Regent’s University London (formerly Regent’s College) is a private university located in London, England.

Regent’s University of London was founded in 1984 as Regent College. In 2012, it was granted the right to award taught degrees, and in 2013, it became a university. It is one of five private universities in the UK. The university’s campus is located in Regent’s Park in central London.

In 1985 it acquired the former South Villa Estate campus of Bedford College, University of London, in Regent’s Park. The site was leased by Bedford College in 1908 and a new group of buildings designed by architect Basil Champneys was opened by Queen Mary in 1913. The buildings have been modified and expanded over the years, especially after bomb damage during World War II.

Bedford College merged with Royal Holloway (another college of the University of London) in 1985 and moved to Royal Holloway’s campus at Egham in Surrey, freeing up the Regent’s Park property. Regent College gradually expanded and the London European Business School moved to the college campus in 1987.
